The Center for Healthful Living (CHL) has recognized Mary Ward as the March Student Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes student athletes’ commitment to the motto of the CHL: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.
Mary is a member of the women’s golf team. The Stockbridge, MA native intended major is Political Science and History. “Mary is the cornerstone of the golf program as this is our first year of varsity status. Her hard work and dedication will be greatly missed” stated head coach Brian Schiffbauer.
Mary is active on campus, serving the Oxford community in multiple roles. She is a Peer Assistance Leader (PAL) that act as orientation leaders for incoming first year students and taught a semester long Freshman Seminar Course with a Faculty co-facilitator. Co-Director of Camp Kesem, which is a national non-profit, that provides a free summer camp for kids who have parents that have been affected by cancer. She is a Library Assistant, training first year students, organizing library events and programming and maintaining library statistics and financial information.
Mary is a recipient of the Sarah Gregory Memorial Scholarship and has been on the Merit list all three semester while at Oxford.
Mary is dedicated to academics, relentless in athletics, encouraging toward others, and helpful to the greater Oxford College community. We are proud to recognize the March CHL Student Athlete of the Month Mary Ward.
