The Eagles triumphed in a victory over the Fort Benning Patriots 76-81 on Thursday night in what was a fast-paced and tough game. While struggling with poor shooting and multiple missed layups in the first half, the team gathered themselves to tie the game up at 35-35 going into the second half.
The second half was a much better shooting performance for the team as they shot 47% and were led by Sean Wickham's 20 points in that half. Sean ended up finishing with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Also, Sophomore captain Zach Breathwaite had a strong 18 points and 10 rebounds. The starting guards for the Eagles in Kyle Brown and Ian Laurie also combined for 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists in a great performance.
The team met their goal in the second half of making 70% of their free throws and made them when they counted most towards the end to seal their victory. Be ready to see more of this from the Eagles as they host Brewton Parker College on Monday at 7:30 pm.
