Eagles Start Strong in Big Win

On Monday night the men's basketball team hosted Brewton Parker in a what was expected to be a competitive and hard-fought game. The Eagles began the game with a 11-2 run and never looked back. At the half, the score was 36-20 in favor of Oxford. After trading baskets throughout the entire second half, Brewton Parker gave a valiant effort to make a comeback by hitting many three-pointers. However, the Eagles shot a very consistent 27 for 31 from the free throw line in the second half to ice the game and seal the victory.

Sophomore captains Ian Laurie and Zach Breathwaite combined for 41 points in the contest. Also, freshman standout Kyle Brown contributed 19 points for the game. As a team, the Eagles shot 32 for 38 from the free throw line which helped tremendously in sealing a victory.

The Eagles will matchup with Georgia Highlands Diamonds on Wednesday in Williams Gym with a 7:30 pm tip off. Come out and support your men's basketball team to a third straight victory. Go Eagles!
