Men’s Basketball Upset Conference Leader

The men’s basketball team secured a fourth straight victory after a spectacular team effort against West Georgia Technical College. The Eagles were led by sophomore captain Zach Breathwaite who had an astonishing triple-double performance with 20 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists. Freshman Sean Wickham also had a standout game with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Prior to this matchup, West Georgia Tech was undefeated in conference play and secured first seed in the GCAA tournament. The Eagles also secured their first conference win.

Other notable contributor include Afam Maduka who was 4-5 from the three point line in the first half of the matchup. Also the starting guards, Kyle Brown and Ian Laurie, combined for 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists in the matchup.

The Eagles will conclude their regular season with a road trip to Alabama to face off against the Birmingham Southern Reserve Squad. After that, the Eagles will begin their conference tournament on Saturday, February 25th at home against Southern Crescent Technical College. Tipoff is at 2 pm on Saturday so come loud and let’s cheer on the Eagles to a second straight conference championship!
