Balance Attack Sparks Oxford Men's Basketball to Win Over Bobcats
Oxford/Emory men's basketball balance scoring attack sparked an 87 to 70 win Saturday afternoon over the Bobcats of Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
The first 12 minutes of the 1st stanz was highly contested as there were 6 lead changes and 3 ties.  However, Ryan Kwong and Eric Lee would warm up from three points range as Kwong made 4 of 6 three pointers and Eric Lee hit 2 of 4 three pointers in the 1st half to give the Eagles some seperation at intermission.  Robbie Wainio capped the 1st half by scoring the teams final 10 points of the half.  The Eagles led 45 to 31 at intermission.

The Eagles shot a season high 54 percent (34-63) from the field and made 11 of 26 three point shots, along with 5 players in double-figures scoring was to much for the Bobcats.

Kwong finished the Eagles balance attack with 16 points and Robbie Wainio also poured in 16 points along with 8 rebounds. Eric Lee made a career high five 3-pointers for 15 points as Seb Mosso went for 13 points to assist the attack.  Tombari-George Komi produced 10 points to round out the balance attack.

Georgia Northwestern would cut the Eagles' lead down to 10 points twice in the second half, the final time at 68-58 with just over seven minutes to play, but the Bobcats would get no closer.

Tyler Phillips went 7-of-10 from long range for 29 points to lead the Bobcats.

"We have made it back to .500 for the year at 10-10," commented head coach Roderick Stubbs. "We still have a lot to play for this year and we are getting better."

The Eagles return to action on Monday, January 29th when they host the LaGrange College Reserve Squad.  Game time is set for 7:30pm.
