Vivian Zhu named CHL Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2025
The Center for Healthful Living (CHL) has recognized sophomore Vivian Zhu from women’s soccer as the October Student-Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes a student athlete's commitment to the CHL's motto: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.
Zhu, from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is a two-year member of the women’s soccer team. This year, she served as one of the captains and led the team in scoring (nine goals, three assists). Zhu was also second in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association conference in points. Her success on the field led her to a spot on the GCAA All-Region team for the second year in a row.
Outside of athletics, Zhu stays very active on campus. She is a Resident Assistant, Oxford Research Scholar, Music for Change vice president, and Bivings Scholar. As an Oxford Research Scholar, she works with Dr. Deric Shannon to examine solidarity economies. She plans on traveling to Spain in May to observe these systems firsthand. In addition, Zhu volunteers at Porterdale Elementary School’s after-school program. She is the violinist for The Divivs, a band she co-founded with her friends. The band performs at various campus events, such as Family Weekend and the Involvement Fair.
Academically, Zhu was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team last year. She plans on majoring in data science with a sociology focus and majoring in applied mathematics.
We proudly recognize the October Student-Athlete of the Month, Vivian Zhu.
