Season Preview: Men's and Women's Golf
The Oxford College Men's and Women's Golf teams will tee off their inaugural seasons on Monday, September 12th at Truett-McConnell College. The Eagles are coming off of a club best finish last fall at the Reinhardt Invitational when the men took 6th place and the women took 7th place. The best results came from individual efforts of Conner Wilkinson on the men's side, who on two occasions recorded a Top-15 finish. These teams have a total of five players returning with three on the men's squad and two for the women.
The golf teams will be coached by Brian Schiffbauer who is in his third year at Oxford and going into his fifth year as a college head coach, "This will be an exciting season because we have prepared for this for two years and now we finally get to represent Oxford on our highest level. I have a lot of confidence that both teams can achieve national championship bids and set a winning foundation and tradition for years to come. I am very excited about this freshman class and they will no doubt push my sophomores. No one has a sense of complacency and that breeds a competitive nature. We are all eager to get started on September 12th @ Truett-McConnell."
Best of luck coming from Eagle Nation to the golf teams kicking off their first varsity seasons. Go Eagles!
