Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team defeated visiting New Rock Prep by a score of 83-51.
The Eagles got off to a slow start and were down 5-0 in the beginning. Oxford came back and led for the rest of the game, taking a 39-32 lead into halftime.
Oxford scored 44 points in the second half and held New Rock to 19 points. In the game, 12 out of the 13 Eagles who played in the game scored at least two points.
Sophomores Leo Etah and Ved Desai had double digit points for the home team. Etah scored 21, while Desai had 18. First-years Alex Straser and Nick Kipers each scored eight points.
The Eagles will next play at home on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. against LaGrange College JV.
