Oxford, Ga. - Sophomore Zachary Seneriz scored three goals as the Emory Oxford men's soccer team easily defeated visiting Andrew College 7-1 for the first win of the season.
The Eagles kept applying pressure early in the game before Seneriz got a goal to go through 32 minutes into the half. First-year Henry Pickard assisted on the play.
The second half was all Emory Oxford. Sophomore Avi Miller scored four minutes into the half with an assist from sophomore Eli Willingham. The Eagles also had goals from sophomore Elijah Miller (assisted by sophomore Aiden Lu), another by Miller (first-year Aditya Karkala assisted), Karkala (assisted by Seneriz), and two more from Seneriz, with a Karkala assist on the final goal, which came with a minute remaining in the game.
Andrew College scored in the middle of the second half off of a penalty kick.
Sophomore goalie Brendan Zelikoff made two saves in goal. First-year Vaden Tekkam played the final 12 minutes and faced no shots in goal.
Emory Oxford next plays on Thursday, Sept. 25 against Northeast Alabama Community College. Game time is 7 p.m.
