Sumter, SC - The Emory Oxford men's soccer team lost late in the game to USC Sumter by a score of 5-3. Sophomore Zachary Seneriz scored every goal for the Eagles.
Oxford took the lead about 18 minutes into the game on a goal by Seneriz, assisted by fellow sophomore Miles Bransford. After a Sumter goal at the 32 minute mark, Seneriz put the Eagles back on top three minutes later with an unassisted goal. Sumter tied the game again a minute later.
With four minutes left, Seneriz scored with an assist by first-year Ethan Zelig. Sumter came back to score three times in the remaining three minutes to secure the win for the home team.
Seneriz led the team in shots with five, four on goal. First-year Henry Pickard had four shots, two on goal.
First-year Vaden Tekkam made seven saves in goal.
The Eagles face Andrew College next at home on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.
