Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford women's soccer team scored early and didn't look back as the team defeated visiting Central Georgia Technical College 4-2.
Sophomore Vivian Zhu scored first at 12 minutes into the game on a breakaway. Around 23 minutes into the half, the Eagles scored twice in the span of seven minutes to put the home team up 3-0. Sophomore Keren Kish scored the second goal of the game on an assist from Zhu. The third goal was scored by sophomore Claudia Fodor with a sophomore Chloe Elton assist.
CGTC scored before halftime, but Elton got the goal right back. First-year Yinka Arogundade assisted on the goal.
The visitors scored once more toward the end of the game, but Emory Oxford held on for the win.
First-year Paulina Yang made seven saves in goal. Elton and Fodor lead the Eagles with five shots each. Emory Oxford is now 2-1 this season.
The Eagles next face South Georgia State College on Friday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. at Bivings Field.
