Demorest, Ga. - The Emory Oxford women's tennis team defeated Piedmont University on the road by a score of 6-3.
Sophomores Olha Los and Lily Liu both won their singles matches and teamed up to win in doubles (8-3). Liu easily won her singles match 6-2, 6-1, while Los won 6-2, 6-2.
In their first collegiate tennis match, freshmen Jennifer He and Samantha Goldberg also won in both singles and doubles. He defeated her opponent 6-1, 1-6 (15-13), while Goldberg won 6-0, 7-5. The two teamed up to win 8-2 in doubles.
Freshman Ellen Liu was defeated in her first college match, but it went to three sets (6-2, 6-7 (1) (4-10).
The team will next play at the ITA Regional Tournament, held from Sept. 27-29. The tournament will be held at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville, Alabama.
