Women's tennis wins on Sophomore Day

Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford women's tennis team defeated visiting Piedmont University on Sophomore Day by a score of 8-1.
Every Oxford singles player won their match. In first singles, first-year Rachel Blais won 6-0, 6-4, while classmate Karina Artemeiv won 6-4, 6-1. First-year Zari Haque won 6-2, 6-1, while sophomores Chloe Macaluso and Jennifer He both easily defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-1. First-year Arielle Gomberg won sixth singles by a score of 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles, Blais/Artemiev and Haque/sophomore Samantha Goldberg each won their matches 8-6.
The women next play on the road against USC Sumter on Friday, April 4.
